Gwangju FC has decided to allow Um Ji Sung to join Swansea City in the English second division.

The Gwangju club held an emergency meeting this morning with CEO Labor Il, general manager Lim Geun-hoon, and head coach Lee Jung-hyo to discuss the transfer, and decided to agree to the move on a "big win" basis.

Initially, representative Labor Il and head coach Lee Jung-hyo, who were reluctant to transfer the team's ace, reportedly made a decision for the player's future.

Gwangju general manager Lim Geun-hoon said, "For the sake of the player's future, we decided to let him go. However, there is a disagreement between the two clubs over the transfer fee, so we plan to ask Swansea City to increase the transfer fee."

Swansea City have set a transfer fee of $950,000 for Um Ji-Sung. A bonus of $50,000 will be added to the fee if he plays 15 games.

The optional sell-on clause 무료고스톱다운받기 (the percentage of the transfer fee that Gwangju will receive if Uhm moves from Swansea City to another team) is set at 17.5%.

Gwangju is reportedly in the unfortunate position of having to part with their ace for just $1 million, or about 1.37 billion won.

Uhm Ji-sung is also said to have significant aspirations to enter Europe.

"First of all, I would like to thank Gwangju for their great decision," said Uhm's agent, "It's a great opportunity for Ji-Sung. Moreover, the Swansea City manager plans to utilize Ji-Sung as a 'starter' and even told me the specific plan to play him in which position," adding that Swansea City really wants Ji-Sung.

Regarding Gwangju's request for a higher transfer fee, Uhm's agent said, "I understand that the letter that Swansea sent to Gwangju is the 'final letter'. I think we need to talk to both clubs a little more."

Swansea City's preseason begins on July 1, and if the transfer talks come to a head, Uhm is expected to play his farewell match against Jeju this Sunday.
